HOME-MADE SATAY SAUCE

Who needs a store-bought packet sauce if you’ve got peanut butter at home?! 6 ingredients, 5 minutes, and you’ve got a flavourful dipping or serving sauce ready to go.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole shallot OR half an onion, diced

  • 1 clove of minced garlic

  • 2-3 tbsp of peanut butter

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp minced/fresh chilli

  • Dash of sesame oil

  • 1/2 cup water (roughly)


Method:

  1. On a low heat, warm the sesame oil and brown the onion and garlic.

  2. Next, add the peanut butter and stir until it has started to melt.

  3. Add the soy sauce and chilli and stir to combine, depending on the taste you can add more or less.

  4. Next, add a bit of water at a time while stirring until you reach your desired consistency.

  5. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring regularly, and then you are ready to serve!

  6. Use as a dipping sauce, drizzle over your next stir-fry or fry up your veggies with it.
